Pemuteran is the closest and most convenient base for diving Menjangan Island, sitting just a short boat ride from the entrance to West Bali National Park. Unlike the busier south of Bali, this corner of the island sees far fewer visitors, so Menjangan’s 11 dive sites stay quiet even in peak season

Diving here means calm, sheltered water suited to beginners, alongside deep walls and drift dives for more experienced divers. Visibility regularly exceeds 20-30 metres, and the reefs are home to pygmy seahorses, gorgonian fans, turtles and the occasional reef shark.
The whole trip is kept simple by Mame Diving School, who handle pickup directly from Mango Moon Guest House each morning.
From there it’s a short walk down to the beach, where a fast boat is already waiting to make the crossing to Menjangan. No need to arrange transport separately or find your own way to a departure point , you step out of your room, get on the boat, and you’re diving within the hour.
Staying at Mango Moon also puts you close to the Biorock coral restoration project in Pemuteran Bay, worth a look on a day off between dives.
